Our Vision
We are creating a new academic structure in Schwerin that effectively combines independent thinking, real-world projects, and the unique identity of our city.
Vision Statement
Schwerin is the only German state capital without a state-run higher education institution of its own. Our vision is to bridge this gap through an independent initiative that closely integrates academic thinking, real-world projects, and the city’s identity.
We aim to create a space for applied knowledge that has a direct impact on the city and sustainably strengthens Schwerin’s position as a hub for innovation, both regionally and internationally.
Our Philosophy
Learning by real projects
Theory becomes tangible when applied to real-world projects, including projects from the Schwerin region. We combine academic rigor with practical relevance to develop solutions that make an impact both locally and beyond.
Mathematics That Makes a Difference
For us, mathematics is a tool for shaping the future. Our models optimize technological processes and provide new impetus for dynamic urban development – precise, measurable, and practice-oriented, with an impact that extends beyond the city limits.
More than education: impulses for a vibrant academic culture
What if mathematics didn’t discourage people, but opened doors? What if it were seen not as an obstacle, but as a key – to new ideas, new opportunities, and a future shaped on your own terms?
That is exactly where we come in.
We offer free lectures in applied mathematics for prospective university students, prospective apprentices, apprentices, master craftsman students, and anyone with a curious mind. Not as dry theory, but as a practical and engaging tool that makes mathematics tangible. We revisit knowledge that may have been forgotten or left behind and build on it step by step, progressing all the way to university-level mathematics.
But we go further. Here, mathematics does not remain on paper. It is applied, explored, and put to the test. Through hands-on projects, formulas become real solutions, uncertainty develops into competence – and competence builds confidence.
We want to show young people what they are capable of. We want to create opportunities where there was once doubt. And we want to give them a reason to stay.
For Schwerin. For the region. For a future built here.
Because we believe that when people begin to understand, they also begin to shape the world around them.
